“This trip was amazing!
Alex is incredibly generous, considerate, and detail-oriented. Every part of the trip was well thought-out, and he bent over backwards to make sure all guests had what they needed and wanted in every stage (while respecting the wildlife and local customs).
For example, when one beginner was noticed to be uncomfortable in the water, he carved out free time to do swimming lessons with her in the hotel pool, waking up early to make it happen. When another guest had fin issues, he didn't even bat an eye before offering up his nice freediving fins for use.
He also clearly takes great care of the vendors he did business with, and was nothing but professional throughout.
I never felt like he was prioritizing his own desires above anyone's, which is not always the case with these types of trips.

“With regard to the structure of the trip, I felt like the schedule and activities were well-envisioned and deployed. Expectations were very realistic and appropriate given the wild nature of what we were doing, and I always felt like the guides and the boat captains were invested in providing the best experience possible.
The guides were superb.
I have been on several guided trips (for swimming, so somewhat different) and so appreciated the care taken by both of them (but especially Alex) to ensure our comfort and safety while optimizing our experience. Great idea to cook our meals, it was so comforting and homey!
Alex and Jamie were both fun and full of optimism about what we would encounter, but equally professional and serious about the safety of the animals and us.
I SO loved that the well-being of the animals was the top priority!
The boat captains were similarly excellent and so interesting and personable! Is K the strongest cinematographer on the planet? I think so. They were so much fun and felt like part of the team.
I would go on another Thoughtful Expeditions trip in a hot second, I loved everything about this trip.
I also really enjoyed our “off” day with the sauna/cold plunge. It was a nice break from the wetsuit.”
